María Camp creates abstract acrylic paintings, usually on Ampersand Hardbord or Gessobord. She enjoys creating works in a wide range of sizes, the smallest typically being 5″ x 5″ panels.
Maria’s painting, “Butterfly Spring,” was in the 2016 Alabama Spring Art Show at High Cotton Arts in Athens, Alabama. During that time, her recycled art sculpture, “Owl in Flight,” was on display at Lowe Mill Arts Center in Huntsville, Alabama; it was entered in the September 2016 North Alabama State Fair and won third place in its category. Her painting entitled “Crazy Eyes” won a first place ribbon.
Maria’s paintings have also been displayed at the Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts, the Tennessee Valley Art Museum, the Warrior Regional Library and Arts Center, and the Killen Public Library. Paintings are available at Art & More, a gallery in Florence, Alabama, as well as online. She also takes commissions. Art is sold as María Camp Fine Art & Happy Anvil Art.
María is a member of the Shoals Artists Guild, Huntsville Art League, and Arts Huntsville. Additional interests include: photography, editing, writing, and attending plays.
